Ballerina Awards 2018/2019

In the year 2018/2019, the Ballerina Design Award was awarded by Egger in three categories (small kitchen in a glossy design, island as a central design element, DirectLACK as living room element“).

small kitchen in a glossy design Feeling the silky smooth material and deriving pleasure from the reflecting crystal effects appeal to your senses. You like to conjure a touch of glamour into your everyday routine. Bespoke ingenuity and friendly features that excite in every detail are exactly to your taste.

Therefore Ballerina awards the best kitchen concept which convinces with the DirectLACK-doors in high gloss finish and uses the small space cleverly!

island as a central design element Spaciously planned configurations in a modular design with an island are ideal for open-plan layouts. Where the kitchen becomes the hub of family life, good ideas are the key.

Therefore Ballerina awards the best kitchen which is functional and integrates the DirectLACK-doors trendily into the island design.

DirectLACK as living room element What is the difference between a kitchen and a living room? Nothing, if you do not want there to be one. Countless possibilities for the kitchen as a living room! Ballerina awards the best design which puts in scene mostly the variety of the living room articles with DirectLACK matt and high-gloss.

The international jury made it difficult to reach a decision on awarding prizes. From the many submitted plans with techniques from the company Egger the focus was put on 9 different plans. In addition, the coveted "Best of the Best" design award was awarded among the first three places.

In the year 2017, the Ballerina Design Award was awarded by GRASS in three categories (puristic lines, small kitchen with pull-out comfort, kitchen as living room).

puristic alignment:
In your home you attach importance to the right balance and clear structures. For you, aesthetic appeal and practicality are not a matter of aspiration but taken for granted. Design must always follow function. Concentrating on the essentials with first-class convenience is your motto.
Therefore Ballerina awards the best kitchen concept which convinces by puristic alignment and clear design with using drawers and pull-outs.

Small kitchen with pull-out comfort:
Noble design and small kitchen? That’s no discrepancy. Cooking, living and life also take place in a small kitchen. The mix of materials and the design inspire with sophistication in everyday life. Best application of drawers and pull-outs convince everyday anew.
Ballerina is looking for the best small kitchen which integrates functionally and trendy the pull-out comfort in its design

Kitchen as living space:
MAXIMUM HOME COMFORT. In open floor plans the trend towards floor-to-ceiling storage units with maximum storage space is unbroken. Where does the kitchen end? And where does the living area begin? The transitions are fluid.
Countless possibilities for the kitchen as a living space! Ballerina awards the design which convincingly puts in scene the large variety of the living room elements with drawers and pull-outs.

The international jury made it difficult to reach a decision on awarding prizes. From the many submitted plans with techniques from the company GRASS the focus was put on 9 different plans. In addition, the coveted "Best of the Best" design award was awarded among the first three places. The Ballerina Design Award powered by Kesseböhmer was presented to the prize winners in 3 categories (Design for Base Units, Design for Tall Units, Comfort) in 2016.

Design for Base Units:
Real space - a plus in convenience for every kitchen - the base unit pull-out in different versions. Flexible in design, large in the utilization of space - transparency and easy access for all stored goods. Here, Ballerina awards the prize to the most successful kitchen concept that utilizes the base unit area to the best effect.

Design for Tall Units:
The tall unit pull-out, the ideal storage centre for the kitchen, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Here, everything is about convenience, overview and comfortable access. Today, Ballerina is searching for the most successful tall unit design that creates the ideal symbiosis of form and function.

Comfort:
High functionality coupled with sophisticated design? In the modern kitchen, this should not be a contradiction. Both Liftboy and ergoAGENT base are synonymous with accessibility and simple operation, coupled with elegant motion. Innumerable possibilities for the convenient kitchen. Ballerina premiers the design that demonstrates the flexibility and versatility of Liftboy and/or ergoAGENTbase most impressively.

The international expert jury has no easy task in making a decision on which kitchen is to receive the award. From the many original designs with Kesseböhmer fittings submitted for consideration, the list was shortened to 9 differing designs. In addition, amongst the top three places, the renowned Best of the Best design prize is awarded. During the Ballerina VIP Fan Party which was held on 17 September 2016, the certificates and trophies were awarded to the prize winners, stemming from various countries, amidst a celebratory atmosphere.

The first Ballerina Design Award powered by Resopal was presented to the prize winner at the start of the Hausmesse 2015 in-house exhibition. Kitchen designs were judged in three categories (Monumental, Boldness with Colour and Small Spaces).

Monumental:
Resopal kitchens are durable and resilient, robust, reliable and self-assured. Alone thanks to their high quality, they can be a permanent part of the interior design for many years. Like a stone, that is made for eternity and with timeless beauty finding its place in the landscape. Ballerina premiers the most stylish kitchen in the ceramic surface structure, monumentally incorporated into the overall concept of the kitchen.

Boldness with Colour:
In the 50s, RESOPAL® introduced bright colours into the misery of the post-war period. Today, Ballerina asks for Boldness with Colour and awards the most successful white Resopal kitchen that commits to colour in the surrounding elements and interior design.

Small Spaces: The challenge that kitchen designers face daily is creating plenty of space, plenty of work surfaces and freedom of movement in a small area. For this, Ballerina awards the most successful kitchen concept, that uses small spaces intelligently.

The international expert jury has no easy task in making a decision on which kitchen is to receive the award. From the many original Resopal kitchens submitted for consideration, the list was shortened to 9 differing designs. In addition, amongst the top three places, the renowned Best of the Best design prize is awarded.
